We invite you to participate in the REGIONAL PHYSIOLOGY MEETING 2025, entitled “Advancing Physiology: Bridging Education, Research and Practice“. The meeting will be held at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on September 24-26, 2025.

The Regional Physiology Meeting 2025 will include a series of scientific lectures and student workshops where participants will focus on current challenges and research in various fields of general physiology in the context of health and disease, including:

• Cardiovascular physiology,
• Cancer physiology,
• Neurophysiology,
• Metabolic/Endocrine physiology,
• Microcirculation,
• Sports physiology,
• Space physiology,
• Cellular and molecular physiology,
• Structural biology and physiology,
• Invertebrate physiology, etc.

The event will bring together experts and students from several European countries within the region and beyond (Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Portugal and Finland) and offers an opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration in the field of (patho)physiological research, both basic (preclinical) and clinical. In addition to thematic symposia and educational workshop for students and lay public, the event will also feature lectures by four keynote speakers on three different topics, short “blitz” presentations for students, and poster sessions where researchers and students will present their latest research and projects in the field of (patho)physiology. The poster session will provide additional opportunities for discussions, idea exchange, and feedback. One of the symposia will be dedicated to the memory of academician Prof. Dr. Andrej O. Župančič. This meeting will provide a forum for lively, interactive and informative discussions that often lead to new collaborations.

The event will be jointly organized by the Slovenian Physiological Society (with representatives from the Faculty of Medicine and Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, and Faculty of Medicine,University of Maribor, and Jožef Stefan Institute, Slovenia) and the Croatian Physiological Society, the Hungarian Physiological Society and the Italian Society of Physiology.

 The conference is open to all interested scientists. Registration is anticipated to open on April 1, 2025.
